Make-up is an art that requires using the right tools. Knowing how to use your makeup e.g makeup brushes would give you the flawless face you desire. Using your hands during makeup application does not give the natural look, it makes your face cakey.
Make up brushes do the opposite and make the face lighter and natural. As you use the makeup brushes, keep clean so that they don’t harbour bacteria that can cause breakouts in your face. Also, replace anyone that spoils. Check the list of makeup brushes and their uses:
1. Foundation Brush
It helps in the smooth application of your base or foundation onto the skin. Go for a quality foundation brush so that you don’t appear cakey and washed over. A high-quality foundation brush blends your foundation out smoothly so giving your face a natural look.
2. Concealer brush
A concealer brush perfects spots correction. As you use a concealer brush, never blend it out. Don’t move the product around, but instead carefully pat the product onto the skin to conceal the area.
3. Angled brush
An angled blush brush allows the precise application of the blush. The angled shape of the brush allows it to pick up the product and dust it onto the cheeks ever so softly for the natural look.
4. Powder brush
The powder brush dusts your face with loose or compact powder. A good powder brush will set and touch up your makeup.
5. Contour brush
Contouring can not be done without a brush. A contour brush with firmer bristles than a blush brush, and a more angled tip, is specially designed to help you target the areas that you want to contour and shape on your face.
6. Highlight brush
The bristles in a fan brush are specifically designed for highlighters. The bristles spread out so that the brush picks up a small amount of the product and can be slightly dusted on the top of the cheekbones and other areas of the face that need to be highlighted.
7. Blending brush
The blending brush is a must-have makeup brush. This is something you can’t use your fingers for. A good blending brush softens any harsh lines after the application of the eyeshadow.
8. Eyeliner brush
The eye liner brush is designed to pick up and deposit the required amount of product while giving you maximum control over your eyes for the perfect look.
9. Mascara brush
If you are concerned on how you want your lashes to look, then a mascara brush is a must-have too.
10. Eyebrow brush
A pair of well-defined brows enhances your appearance. Also, defined brows frame your eyes and highlight your best features. A slanted liner brush, aka the angled brow brush, is used to apply eyebrow filler. An eyebrow brush is then used to tame and shape brows after filling them.
11. Kabuki brush
A kabuki brush is usually used to apply loose powder on large areas of your face. Its size and design makes the kabuki brush to easily blend powder foundation super evenly on your skin. It creates a very natural-looking coverage.
