When starting up a new business or changing the directions of your career, people often start from zero. You can call me the networking Queen because I thoroughly enjoy communicating, it is strength of mine. I do not mind attending events alone and I am comfortable with striking up a conversation first. I thought it would be good to collate some ways in which your business can grow by spreading you’re networking wings and soar.
1 Move Out Of Your Comfort Zone
Move away from stagnant routines that you may have become accustomed too. If you are in the office all day try and break up your day with an afternoon training course or meeting a client in your niche market. In order to go somewhere you have never been before you must do something you have never done.
2 Change Your Social Circles
You have heard the saying ‘birds of a feather flock together’. You are known by the company you keep. If your business is in selling cosmetics, then trying to sell your makeup to a Plumber will not help you get very far. You have to be in the right environment, for example a catwalk fashion show or a cosmetic wholesale day to benefit fully from those around you.
3 Create An Online Forum
If you create a strong presence of supporters online they will help share your product and services in their networks. This means your reach to new customers will go further and you will receive support and build a rapport with those who tweet and repost what you do online.
4 Attend Events Regularly
I love to network especially in regal places. Having a Business Mentor meant I was introduced to an influential network. Firstly I had to purchase some new suits to look the part, get my business cards printed and then I was ready to network.
5 Open Your Mouth
Like the BT telephone advert says ‘it is good to talk’ and I agree. Tell people about your business and be excited when you speak. Many customers buy because of how you make them feel about your service. Make sure you mention the core message of your product.
If you follow these 5 suggestions over the next three months you will find a change in the amount of new business men and women you will meet. You will also expand your network and create a buzz about your services.
