Every lady should have at least a pair of one killer heels. If it is not your thing, then it is okay, you can substitute with other shoe types. It is better to wear what makes you feel comfortable.
However, it is generally acceptable that the high heels is a lady’s best friend. This is because it makes her look slimmer, taller, sexier and more confident.
Wearing high heels requires great panache if not the wearer would look unrefined and clumsy. Though it can be tricky at first, you can walk in high heels fearlessly following the tips below:
- Practice
Practice with shoes with smaller inches heel. Then go for higher ones. The taller the heel, the shorter the stride ends up being. So take small slow steps without bending your knees. Practice wearing the high heels around the house before going out. Let your feet get used to them.
2. Break in your heels
Breaking in your heels is important because it removes stiffness from the shoes and helps mold them to the shape of your feet. Wearing your shoes around at home should be enough to break them in.
3. Walk from heel to toe
Put your heel to the ground first then follow smoothly by your toes. Once your weight is on the balls of your feet, shift your weight forward as if you are walking on your tip toes, and push forward for the next step.
4. Pay attention to your posture
Wearing high heels shoes shifts your centre of gravity, and your lower back arches in order to compensate if you don’t maintain excellent posture. Adjust your shoulders back and down and keep your arms relaxed at your sides. Swing your arms slightly as you walk for balance. Suck your belly button towards your spine. This helps you stand up straighter while also making your look thinner.Bend your knees slightly, don’t lock them walking in heels. Keep your legs close together as you walk and point your toes straight ahead.
6. Imagine walking on an invisible line
Just like Catwalk models, try crossing one foot slightly in front of the other to give their hips more sway. The best way to achieve a sway while walking in high heels is to pretend that you are walking down an imaginary straight line or tight rope.
