Popular deejay, Dj Jimmy Jatt is relishing the success of his sophomore album, The Industry, with a feat that has pushed 2face Idibia’s new album, Ascension to number two spot on theiTunes Nigeria music chart.
Further on this, the artiste, at the weekend, shot the video of Glasses Up, a song off the album.
Glasses Up serves as the anniversary theme song of Jimmy Jatt’s 25 years celebration in the music industry. Shot in Lagos, the afro-beat inspired sound track was produced by Tee-Y Mix and directed by Patrick Elis. It features award-winning artistes such as 2face Idibia, Sound Sultan and Burna boy.
Accoding to Jatt, “Glasses Up is a toast to my friends, fans, supporters, well wishers that have stayed true to my music and for the support this 25 years.”
The Definition is a 26-track mix tape featuring over 50 of Nigerian’s best artistes, includingD’banj, 2face Idibia, Banky W, Ice Prince, Vector, Olamide, Waje, Skales, Zaina and Phyno, the work has been adjudged the biggest collaborative album out of Africa.
The artistes came to critical acclaim in 2007, when he released the hit single Stylee. The song which features 2face Idibia, Mode 9 and Elajoe, earned him several awards including Channel O Africa Music Video Award, Hip hop World Award, SoundCity Music Video Award, Nigerian Music Video Award and Nigerian Music Award nominations.
