Sensational singer Tiwa Savage, returned to Nigeria almost immediately after her lavish wedding in Dubai. It becomes obvious there was little or no honeymoon, as the singer stormed Ekwulobia, Anambra State, on May 3, where she thrilled expectant fans at the ongoing Star Music Trek, a 10-city Pan-Nigerian concert sponsored by Nigerian Breweries Plc.
Tiwa, the First Lady of Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records had exchanged rings with beau, TeeBillz, in a star-studded wedding in Dubai on April 26.
Joining four other headline artistes at the Ekwulobia Township Stadium, Tiwa who put up a sensation al performance, also lent her voice to the call for the release of the over 200 school girls abducted three weeks ago by Boko Haram insurgents in Chibok, Borno State.
Raising her fingers in the air, the audience reportedly chanted “Bring back our girls” after her, thereby joining the global call to find the female students.
Other top artistes at the show included Phyno, Mr Raw, Dr Sid and Kcee.
The beautiful diva went on to give one of her most stage-stunning performances yet, serenading the audience and an eager male fan in particular who was invited to join her on stage. Her duet with Dr Sid on Dorobucci was the icing on a delicious performance with the audience going wild in excitement.
Interestingly too, Kcee and Harrysong, performed a medley of their hit songs: Beta Pikin, Bulienu Jesu, Limpopo, Okpekete, Give it to Me and Pull Over as well as other hits for their appreciative fans.
As expected, Phyno’s performance drew high praise from fans who surged towards the singer, rapping enthusiastically to hits such as Alobam, Ghostmode, and Parcel among others.
Despite Dr Sid’s swift run down of his popular songs even right back to his Mo’Hits years, his hit song Surulere which he sang with Don Jazzy had the fans screaming in excitement right till he left the stage.
Mr Raw and his live band’s exceptional performance is still the talk of the city as the veteran artiste delivered many of his popular tunes including Hip Hop Gyration, Angel and Spiritual Conji.
Host of the show, Gbenga Adeyinka, on his part, provided the teeming audience with a highly amusing show that kept thousands of fans who surrounded the massive Trek stage on their feet for the over 10-hour performance.
Since March 29, the Star Music Trek has toured six cities, including Nsukka, Makurdi, Uyo, Umuahia and Orlu.
Over the years, it has brought together thousands of fans across the country to watch live performances from many of Nigeria’s biggest artistes.
The seventh Star Music Trek concert holds in Onitsha this Saturday, May 11, as the music concert continues its exciting Nigerian tour.
