The two-year political malice between Ibinabo Fiberesima, who won the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) presidential election in 2012, and her arch rival, Emeka Rollas, was put to rest recently, during the 52nd birthday celebration of former Niger-Delta militant, Ateke Tom.
Fiberesima and Rollars were said to have embraced each other, after Ateke enjoined them to bury the hatchet in Okrika, Rivers State, during the ceremonies.
“This is the way we should live. We should all live together as one family. Emeka should support Ibinabo’s ambition and Ibinabo should lend listening ears. I don’t hate people. I try to settle all quarrels and let peace reign because that is what we all need and should work towards in Nigeria,” Ateke said.
Trouble began two years ago, when Ibinabo was first announced winner of the election by secretary of AGN Electoral Committee (AGNEC), Rachael Oniga, only for Ayo Emmanuel, the AGNEC chairman, to announce Emeka Rollas as winner, three hours later.
Ibinabo’s result was however upheld as the authentic.
