Bayelsa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC has suspended of some of its chieftain, including the immediate Bayelsa APC governorship flag bearer and ex-governor Timipreye Sylva, Sunny Goli and three others from the party. The Minister of Power Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, has disclosed that he has secured the release of about 300,000 electricity meters belonging to defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN). The meters were locked up in a warehouse as a result of lingering legal case against the contract for their procurement. He hopes the huge volume of meters would be put to good use by the electricity distribution companies (Discos) in the country. MTN should pay double the $5.2 billion it was originally fined by Nigeria’s telecommunications regulator last year, according to the spokesman for the House of Representatives.
