The Lagos State Government on Tuesday said it would apply the relevant laws to ensure that more Lagosians voluntarily pay their taxes, just as it warned that tax evaders and defaulters would be prosecuted. Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has reiterated the need for state policing in Nigeria. A magistrate court sitting in Igarra, Akoko-Edo local government area of Edo state has convicted one Joseph Okoye and sentenced him to three years imprisonment with hard labour. Okoye,age 45 years bagged the conviction for sexually defiling a four year old girl in the area. The conviction of Okoye in Igarra was initiated by a non-governmental organization, BraveHeart Initiative for Youth & Women (BHI).
