Bose Ogulu aka Mama Burna, who is the mother and manager of Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy, is in the news. She stated that her son is still “a work in progress” despite his many achievements.
In an interview with the BBC, Mama Burna said that though she is proud of Burna Boy for all his accomplishments, she believes he still has potential to do more.
“I admire the diligence, the hard work but he’s still a work in progress,” she said.
“There are many more milestones to attain. We need to not just step down and look at what we’ve done, but keep doing more.”
Bose Ogulu is Burna Boy’s manager. She has been instrumental in her son’s successful music career. According to her, she is always pushing her son to be the best version of himself.
Leaving language school to manage Burna Boy was a big decision for Mama Burna but she was consoled having discovered his talents from a young age. Though he dropped out of university, she still supported Burna Boy’s decision.
