Guaranty Trust (GT) Bank Plc. has launched its e-commerce portal tagged: ‘SMEs MarketHub’, the first of its kind in Nigeria. The portal is part of strategies by the bank to empower and support Small and Medium scale Enterprises in the country thereby, contributing to the nation’s growth and development.
Segun Agbaje, chief executive officer, GTbank, said that economic conditions remain challenging for SMEs in Nigeria despite its integral role it plays towards driving growth and development.
“E-commerce is widely acknowledged as a powerful tool for fully enhancing business possibilities as it opens up a world of business to customers and a world of customer to business. The speed, efficiency and convenience with which transactions can be completed are distinct advantages that e-commerce has over traditional means of transacting business,” the CEO explained.
The SME Market Hub allows small and medium business owners create and maintain an online presence and expand their business frontiers to new markets and millions of buyers that are on line.
GT Bank has been at the forefront of industry innovations within the nation’s financial service sector. These includes the introduction of GT Bank social banking which allows its social account holders to transfer money, purchase airtime, pay bills, confirm account balances and a fast track banking systems that allows customers deposit and withdraw money using their debit cards.
