A lady’s makeup says a lot about her. If it is too much, it makes her appear like she is trying too hard. Makeup is an art. It has to be flawless for the best results or else you would look clownish. Quality makeup products, knowing your skin types among others are things to note to get your make up game right.
To achieve flawless skin finish makeup, follow these steps:
- Moisturise
Start with your make up base or primer. A mattifying oil-free primer would be a good option. The next thing is to prep then prep again. Face primers affect the application of foundation. This is more reason to prep the skin with a good moisturiser. This ensures a healthy glow. A moisturising illuminator is an alternative is you want to achieve a healthy glow too. When you see a lovely skin-like makeup, it is because of the foundation and concealer the person used. A good foundation and concealer create a healthy base for your makeup.
- Cover up blemishes and dark circles
Apply concealers to your under-eye circles. Go for shades that match your skin tone. For best results, use a pointed concealer brush for application in little stripes. Then blend well with your finger for a healthy glow. Be careful to not tug on delicate parts of the under-eye.
- Work on perfecting base
The bulk of work on your make up routine should perfect the base. It would yield a flawless finish. As pointed out, using the right shade of foundation would give beautiful look. It matches the skin tone, so it brings a flawless look. Another thing to consider, is knowing the right amount of foundation. If it’s too cakey, it can ruin the makeup. It should be appropriate and blended well into the skin. Makeup artists advise you to extend foundation application to the neck with a beauty blender or a foundation brush. For the natural look skin effect, use a beauty blender.
- Highlight with translucent powder
Pick on certain areas and your face to highlight. For the cheeks, go easy with colours. A natural matching blush should do. Blend this colour up to your temples with fluffy brush or fingers or beauty blender.
- Try out shimmery eye base
A swipe of sheer, shimmery shadow from lash lines to brow bones would be cool for a dramatic look. You can apply with a flat eyeshadow brush. For the light-skinned, a silvery-white shade would be a good option. A champagne colour would be ideal for the dark-skinned lady.
- Define your eyes and skin
A dark liner pencil can rim the upper lashes for a wow effect. Smudging the under eyes with a brown or bring shadow with eye brush would create more intensity. Finish up with false lashes thickened with coats of mascara. For the skin, bronzers would do wonders for your cheekbones, jawlines, forehead and cupid bow. To avoid skin looking cakey or ashy, build up products used.
- Draw the perfect brows
Lightly apply eyebrow pencil on your brow to fill up gaps. Don’t use a thick line instead of opt for multiple small strokes. Then use a mascara wand to brush for the natural effect.
- Apply lipsticks
Before you apply lipsticks, ensure your lips are softened with lip moisturisers. Then apply the lipstick of choice, strawberry colour is not a bad idea. Start with the center of your lips before blending over entire lips. matte lipsticks would be great but if you want to amp things, a layer of gloss for extra glow would be great.
- Use illuminator to set face
Place illuminator over cheekbones, the chin, the bridge of the nose and temple. After setting the whole face with a long-lasting setting spray, voila, you are good to go!
