According to science, women like beards. From evolution, facial hair used to demonstrate that a man is healthier, more socially dominant, and more masculine than other males. During the ancient Egyptian era, pharaohs and other high-ranking men grew thick, pointy-hair on their chins. These are 3 scientific reasons why women love beards:
Beards are more masculine
Based on reseacrh conducted, women view men with facial hair to be not only more masculine but more confident, industrious, generous, and sincere than men who do not have facial hair. Additionally, researchers found that women judged beards as more attractive than clean‐shaven faces for long‐term relationships. Women tend to associate more masculine faces with physical strength and social assertiveness.
Bearded men make better dads
Bearded men make better dads, or at least that’s the impression they give off to women. According to another research, bearded men are seen as better partners in long-term relationships. This allowed researchers Dixon and Brookes to the conjecture that bearded men may also be perceived as better fathers. Women subconsciously (or consciously) perceive bearded men as more masculine according to researchers. Full-bearded men are perceived as being better protects and investing more in their offspring.
Women like beards but beard length matters
According to Medical Daily, beard length is a crucial component of attractiveness. Researchers from the University of New South Wales, Australia asked 351 women and 177 heterosexual men to weigh in on men with various phases of beard growth. Men with heavy 10-day stubble were ranked most attractive, where men with light stubble (5 days of growth) got the lowest scores from both female and male participants.
