Transformer 4 – Age of Extinction Starring Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, etc.
When you take a $165 million USD budget movie, shoot it in the US and far away China, you don’t expect anything but a chart smasher! Last weekend’s number one with $29.2 million USD, “Think Like Men too” has been rubbished as “Transformers – Age of Extinction” premieres today in the US with an estimated $100 million USD opening. This movie reunites Michael Bay (Director) and Mark Wahlberg (Actor) – both worked together on “Pain and Gain”. This time around it’s a whole new ball game, with humans going after transformers to exterminate them all, but what they did not envisage is a distant plan for their own extinction by enemies beyond their mortal imaginations. Men have to turn back to to the ones they’ve been trying to eradicate… will they be enough? …who will they both turn to for backup? Is their hope for the humans? If the transformers will just have faith not in who we are, but who we can become… This movie is a must watch!
On a scale of 0 – 10, this movie is an 8.9!
Devil in a Dress starring Majid Michel, Uti Nwachukwu, etc.
The lives of four characters will ‘majorly’ be affected. Three friends who are hunters, become the hunted… who’s hunting them? A female, Sheila who is Greg, Jade and Martins’ waterloo! This movie made cinema ticket sales, because of the faces in the movie… Majid, who tried to carry on a role he felt too comfortable in and Uti, (who as, far as I’m concerned) should just stick to modeling, reminds us of what plastic acting is all about as usual. This “Ghollywood” movie like most of its “Nollywood” counterparts is not worth your precious weekend. But if you have nothing to do on Monday and Wednesday, go watch it to while away your time at a discount or on a Tuesday at a discount with free popcorn + drinks. Just don’t go to sleep before the end.
On a scale of 0 -10, this movie is a 4
Music
DB Records – D’banj, Tonto Dike, Kayswitch and 2Kris
Four artists on D’Banj’s DB records label has dropped their singles, “Kak your Bumpa” by Kayswitch, “Carry Last” by 2Kriss (duo) and Tonto Dike’s “Sugar Rush”.
Of these songs, it’s Tonto Dikeh’s, that’s generated the most noise. Truth is, everyone keeps asking why D’banj decided to sign a “Tonto Dikeh” who though being a good actress, has not really been able to cross the mediocrity line, when it comes to singing.
One thing I’ll give to D’banj is his new publicity drive for his label, though still trailing Don Jazzy’s Mavin by far, the journey has started off. And like the popular saying, “the journey of a mile, starts with a single step.” He has ‘really’ started.
On a scale of 0 -10, the songs average 3.5
Wiggle by Jason Derulo ft. Snoop Dogg
When Igi Azzalea’s number one spot for FOUR weeks makes you want to doubt Billboard Hottest 100’s credibility, “Wiggle” by Jason holding down the number five spot yet again douses that presumption. As a kid, I’ve always asked myself how Snoop Dogg’s rap will be able to transcend his generation, but yet again his verses on “Wiggle”, is like a reminder that, the Dogg’s def’ gonna be there today, tomorrow and farther… and don’t just ask me about Jason… c’mon we know!
On a Scale of 0 – 10, this song is a 6.8
