A wife whose husband raped her teenage daughter and got her pregnant, has surprisingly stopped the immoral man from committing suicide, may be for love.
“On Saturday morning, he asked for forgiveness from me and in the night, he attempted to kill himself by drinking poison but I grabbed the bottle from him. On Wednesday after reporting the matter to police and later when we went for tests at Chipata General Hospital, it was confirmed that my child is pregnant,” she said.
The Chipata police have detained the philandering husband from Mambwe for allegedly defiling his 14-year-old stepdaughter.
The man had pounced on the poor girl when the mother traveled overnight to Chipata, stressing: “he warned me not to tell anyone about it and that If I did I will be killed”.
“My firstborn daughter who is doing grade five (at Mphomwa Primary School) has been defiled by her stepfather and she is carrying a pregnancy for my husband.
“ I was in Chipata when my husband defiled her, but I learnt that she was pregnant when I discovered that she was vomiting and after I queried her, she disclosed that she was pregnant and that her father was responsible,” she explained.
She said when asked about the matter, her husband admitted but asked for forgiveness from her.
The mother said her daughter’s life was ruined as she would only get back to school after giving birth.
And a medical report dated February 11 signed by Dr Odimba from Chipata General Hospital indicated that the girl was pregnant.
