Born as Stella Ojukwu on April 24, 1978, Stella Damasus is one of Nollywood’s rare talents
One of six siblings, Damasus grew up in Benin City, Edo state where she had her primary and secondary education. She then went on to study Creative Arts at the University of Lagos.
After her first screen appearance in the 1992 Nollywood Movie “Abused”, she rapidly became a household name. She has starred in over 50 movies and was nominated for ‘Best Actress in A Leading Role’ in 2009 for the African Movie Academy Awards.
Stella is not just blessed with brains and beauty, she has real strength of character, best evident when she lost her husband, the late Jaiye Aboderin.
To crown it all, the actress and singer has a heart of gold. A vocal activist, she is a staunch supporter of abused women and children. A beauty queen with a heart of gold, that’s Stella and that’s why we have chosen her as our ‘Woman of the Month’
Stella, we celebrate you!
