The Presidency on Monday clarified that the N5000 stipend electoral promise will still be paid to the vulnerable and poor Nigerians by President Muhammadu Buhari. The clarification came against the backdrop of misconception of President Buhari’s declaration in Saudi Arabia at the weekend that unemployed graduates would not be paid for doing nothing. The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos in a landmark judgment has held that successive governments since the return of democracy in 1999 “breached the fundamental principles of transparency and accountability for failing to disclose details about the spending of recovered stolen public funds, including on a dedicated website.” The court then ordered the government of President Muhammadu Buhari to “ensure that his government, and the governments of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, former President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, and former President Goodluck Jonathan account fully for all recovered loot.” The judgment was delivered on Friday by Hon Justice M.B. The United States has completed its first uterus transplant surgery, following on a technique already proven in Sweden (late September 2014 ) that could help women suffering from infertility, the US Cleveland Clinic said on Monday. The nine-hour surgery took place on February 28th and the 26-year-old patient — whose identity was not revealed — was in stable condition, the hospital said in a statement.
