A Zambia cattle herder, Augustine Mulele is chatting with the Pemba District Police for allegedly killing a six-year-old, Cynthia Mudenda out of anger.
Mulele, 17, told the police he lost his temper when the girl allegedly insulted him during a quarrel so he struck her with a stick on her head
Upon realizing that Cynthia of Hamalambo Village in Chief Hamaundu’s area had fainted, the suspect Augustine Mulele attempted to burn her.
According to Southern Province assistant police chief, Kashif Mphande Cynthia went missing Friday last week, the same day he had a quarrel with Mulele also of the same village..
The deceased was only discovered dead with a swollen head the following day in a nearby bush about 200 metres from her parent’s home.
The matter was later reported to police by the father, Gideon Mudenda.
Mr Mphande said police instituted investigations leading to the apprehending of Mulele who told the officers that he got incensed after the girl allegedly insulted him.
“When the boy was interrogated by police, he revealed that the deceased had insulted him and he later picked a stick and hit her on the head and she died on the spot,” Mr Mphande said
The juvenile told the officers that he picked the body and hid it in the nearby bush and went back to continue herding cattle.
Mr Mphande said that the boy was apprehended and would be charged with murder.
