“Rude” by Magic
After a seven week reign at the top of world music, “Fancy” by latest rap sensation, Australia’s Iggy Azalea has dropped to number two! And guess who dethroned her? Yes, your guess is as good as mine, it is “Rude” by Magic. After watching and trailing fancy for twelve weeks, “Rude” has decided to be where it is supposed to be – the number one spot! Don’t act all surprised because reggae is back at the number one spot after an eleven year absence. Sean Paul’s “Busy” was number one in 2003, and yes, that was the last time reggae saw number one till now.
Magic reminds me of the great all-boy band, UB40 and will definitely go places.
On a scale of 0 – 10, this song is a 9!
“Show You the Money” by Wizkid
After dropping a hint that he has done a song with multi-award winning star, Rihanna, the starboy, Wizkid has dropped another music video to whet the appetite of his fans as they await the track. Show you the money music video was shot in Surulere by Nigeria based director, Patrick Ellis. The visual is more of a dance video and may probably never get nominations for any award. It is a street video that shows Wizkid identifying with his roots. And yes, as it is a tradition in EME artistes music videos, it had RnB star/EME boss, Banky W making a cameo appearance.
“Are you gonno dansi O?”
On a scale of 0 -10, the music video is a 5.
