Following the death of Vera Uwaila, a 22-year-old lady, who was raped and murdered in a Redeem Christian Church of God in Benin State, many Nigerians have come out to condemn the dastardly act. As the hashtag #justiceforuwa trends on Twitter, they demand for justice that the perpetrators be made to face the law.
Vera Uwaila was said to have visited the RCCG, Edo Province 10, Ikpoba Hill, Benin to read on Wednesday, May 27, 2020. She was reported to be in the church auditorium when some men attacked her, raped her, hit her head with a fire extinguisher cylinder leaving her dead. She died after three days in the hospital as a result of the injury sustained.
