Ogun State government will soon come up with a device that will enable teachers access training via an electronic device which will be centrally coordinated and connected to prospective participants in the three senatorial districts of the state.
The State’s Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mrs. Modupe Mujota disclosed this at the opening of the executive meeting of All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPPS) Southwest region held at Baptist Boys High School, Saje, Abeokuta,
Under the scheme, the teaching method will be centrally coordinated with prospective participants connected to it.
She noted that the scheme would help to save cost and reduce stress, adding that it would enable participants to update their knowledge which would in turn result in improving the academic ability of the students.
The scheme, she further said was one of the robust ways geared towards improving the standard of education in the State.
She therefore charged ANCOPPS members to focus on training that would strengthen their skills, device ways of improving performance of students in the West African School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and fashion out ways of stamping out anti-social behaviours amongst public secondary school students in the entire region.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman, Southwest of ANCOPPS, Pastor Ranti Obafunso appealed to the State Government to fill the existing vacancies in the Principal General Cadre among other demands of the Association in the State.
Goodwill messages were also delivered by the Chairman of the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) Mrs. Bosipo Ogunsan, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mr Kolawole Fagbohun and the leadership of the State ANCOPPS, ASUSS and NUT, amongst others.
The 4-day meeting had delegates from, Lagos, Ekiti, Ogun, Oyo, Ondo and Osun States.
