I woke up today to see Google is celebrating the anniversary of Mandela’s birth with an interactive Doodle. Madiba would have been 96 years today and if he were here, I am pretty sure there would have been a party in his honour. Nelson Mandela was an outstanding personality, your 10/10 type of person. Amidst many things, I found it amusing that Mandela studied Law while behind prison walls, who does that? He said “Education is the most powerful weapon which we can use to change the world”
A man of wisdom and eloquence, his words are everywhere as quotes, engraved on hearts and marble. I love this particularly “No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.”
Nelson Mandela represented, and still represents, democratic socialism, an ideology of all persons living together in harmony and with equal opportunities not minding the colour of skin.
