There is something compelling about a woman who builds her life with clarity and quiet determination. Our Woman Crush Wednesday, Adebanke Thompson’s story is one of steady progress shaped by hard work, curiosity, and the courage to keep moving forward.
She began in 2016 as an event hostess, learning the rhythm of live experiences from the ground up. Those early days were not glamorous, but they gave her a close view of how brands connect with people. Working on activations for names like Johnny Walker and Nigerian Breweries, she developed an instinct for detail and audience engagement that would later define her work.
Her next step took her into project coordination at Afrikdiary, where she supported the delivery of large exhibitions. Here, her ability to organise, adapt, and see the bigger picture became clear. She was not just executing tasks, she was learning how to hold complex projects together.
Adebanke’s career took an interesting turn when she moved into the corporate space. At a real estate firm, she started as an Account and Admin Officer but quickly rose to Operations Manager. In that role, she helped shape the structure of the organisation, built a team of 20 people, and oversaw the onboarding of more than a thousand client accounts. It was a period that revealed her strength as a builder, someone who can create order and direction where it is needed.
Yet, her connection to events never faded. She returned to it with purpose by founding BT Events Management. What began as a personal venture has grown into a thriving company known for creating thoughtful and memorable experiences. The business has delivered over 100 events and expanded into a team of twenty. Beyond the numbers, what stands out is her commitment to people. Many of those she trained have gone on to run their own event companies, a quiet but powerful form of impact.
In 2023, she extended her reach by creating a community for event professionals on X. What started as a simple idea has grown into a space of over 1.000 members. It has become a meeting point for learning, sharing ideas, and supporting one another, especially for those finding their way in the industry.
Today, as Events and Sponsorship Manager at FCMB Group, Adebanke continues to shape experiences at a larger scale. With over 50 events managed in this role, she brings a blend of structure and creativity that keeps her work fresh and relevant.
A graduate of accounting with further training in event management from Pan-Atlantic University, she carries both discipline and imagination into her work. Her vision is clear. She wants to leave her mark on the global events space while opening doors for others through mentorship and shared knowledge.
Adebanke Thompson, through events and other projects, is creating pathways. She is shaping a career that speaks of purpose and impact. Hers is a story of growth that feels honest and earned, and it is exactly why at Pride Magazine Nigeria, she is our Woman Crush Wednesday.
