Our Woman Crush Wednesday, Dr. Naomi Osemedua, fondly called Sparkle Queen, is a phenomenal woman with the Midas touch. She is human physiologist, certified life coach, national transformation strategist, and global speaker.
Naomi is the CEO of CentreStage Company, and helps entrepreneurs turn their businesses into profitable ventures with impact. She also applies herself as a global media strategist and coach, and trains individuals and corporate organisations on brand visibility in a global market. She does this by helping them perform optimally and leveraging digital media platforms so they can be and project the best versions of themselves. Naomi has impacted thousands of entrepreneurs and personal brands, amassing clients from over 30 countries across the globe, from Nigeria, Zambia, Dubai, Egypt, India and the USA, to name a few.
She is passionate about women’s empowerment and the Sustainable Development Goal to achieve gender equality. Naomi founded Women with Stories International to empower women by helping them find their voice and purpose through their own unique stories. She also hosts the Mum Closet Show on YouTube, where she gives mums weekly tips to help them enjoy the experience of motherhood. Mum Closet and Women with Stories are also available as podcasts. She also founded the organisation, Hajara’s Purse to empower communities.
Being multifaceted, Naomi is also the creator of the TRASH THE LABELS movement. This was inspired by her TEDX Providence 2019 talk where she was the only speaker from Africa, and spoke to over 500 participants. As a speaker, she has graced high-profile stages across four continents, and infuses humour into real-life stories during her talks to captivate her audience. She also shares insights as a regular columnist at Thrive Global. She has graced the cover of notable magazines and media platforms such as Guardian Woman, Vanguard Allure, Today’s Woman, Channels Television, Dove TV, and YALI Africa.
She is the recipient of several awards and honours. She was awarded the ‘Leader of the Decade’ award at the 2021 Annual Global Women Economic Forum (WEF) Conference in India; and has also been given the Woman of Excellence Award by WEF. She is also the recipient of the first Hive Africa Community Support Award, and is the first Global Brand Ambassador for Xolani Beauty, an international beauty brand. She won the Social Media Business Influencer of 2019, given by The Entrepreneur Africa. She was listed as one of Nigeria’s 100 most inspiring women in 2020.
She is an alumna of the Dale Carnegie training institute and the Myles Munroe Leadership Mentoring Program. She sits on the board of social change initiatives Hive Africa, Church on the Street, Kiyeseni Foundation and Salt Talks Africa. Naomi was conferred with the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Leadership and Management by Escae University, Cotonou in 2021.
