There are things we did as Nigerian students because we were mischievous and delinquent. It usually comes with phase of life. As teenagers, most of us think we should be independent but our parents, teachers and guardians have always been wiser and can understand any tactics. Here is a list of things we did as Secondary School Students:
1. Begging for food unnecessarily. This is what we called ‘long throat’. Now we understand the value of being content.
2. Hoarding and being stingy with belongings. The true test of love is in giving.
3. Blaming your fart on someone else. I think we all did this and never wanted to play victim to avoid embarrassment. It is wonderful to know that we never got caught.
4.Writing the names of noise makers but keeping your friends off the list. It is good to associated with the right people, you save yourself from trouble.
5. ‘Making mouth’ and then dodging the fight. It is better to show courage despite being afraid than claim defeat. This was the strategy.
6. Telling unnecessary lies. Those times we got away with lies, our conscience constantly reminded us of how we failed.
7. Kissing and fondling under the stairs. This was common especially if you attended a mixed school.
8. Playing stupid pranks on friends. Most times, it was on April fool’s day. At least it made us laugh to see the other person gullible.
