We begin this month by celebrating a seasoned professional with international experience that cuts across a dynamic range of skills in business strategy, technical expertise and people management. Mrs Jameelah Sharrieff-Ayedun has over 20 years of experience in defining and implementing strategy, developing organizational structure, leading and building diverse winning teams that deliver results.
Currently, Jameelah is co-founder of CreditRegistry Corporation, a software technology company headquartered in Washington State, USA. The position was taken on in 2014 when she was appointed substantive MD/CEO of CreditRegistry Nigeria, the country’s pioneer and largest credit bureau operator. Because of her excellent impact, CreditRegistry has been selected as one of Africa’s Top 20 Most Innovative companies by Financial Times Magazine, awarded the Product Leadership Award for Credit Reporting and Risk Management Enterprise Software by Frost & Sullivan, recognized as Nigeria’s Best Credit Bureau Service Provider by Capital Finance International and received the M&A Today Global Award 2020 for Best Strategic Technical Partnership Firm of the Year.
Before CreditRegistry, Jameelah worked with Microsoft Corporation for seven (7) years as Global Program Manager, Shanghai China and Technical Program Manager, Redmond Washington, USA, overseeing identity management and online services. As a professional with a passion for excellence, she also had a rewarding ten (10) year career with General Motors in North America, South America and Europe from 1991-2001.
Her philanthropic efforts which show how big her heart is has earned her recognition; she was adequately nominated for the Jefferson Award for Extraordinary Public Service for Washington State, USA. Most recently, she received the CEO Today Magazine Global Award and was recognized in the Top 30 Leading Women in Fintech in Nigeria by Financial Technology Africa.
If you’re wondering how she’s groomed for such excellence, Jameelah is a proud recipient of the Stryker award, the highest presidential honour from the Illinois Institute of Technology where she received BSc (Honors) in Electrical Engineering. She is an active member of the Institute of Directors and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. She is a Dale Carnegie graduate and a graduate of Stanford Seed Institute for Innovation in Developing Economies, Stanford Graduate School of Business 2017.
