African Queen crooner, 2face Idibia, has partnered Red Cross Society of Nigeria to raise awareness, and mobilize support for people who have been affected by violent crises in Nigeria.
The singer, who also runs a similar project called Million Voices for Peace campaign was endorsed at a media event, where he was also kitted with the Red Cross uniform.
By his appointment, 2face joins the list of renowned celebrities who have shown commitment in speaking up for some of the world’s most vulnerable groups.
Lagos zonal program officer for Red Cross Society of Nigeria, Mr. Umoh, said there is no doubt that 2face will inspire others to show more commitment in supporting on-going peace efforts in the country, while mobilizing support in support of affected victims of conflict in Nigeria.
Commenting on his endorsement, the singer said: “Today we take a big step in improvising the plight of internally displaced persons in Nigeria through our partnership with the Nigerian Red Cross Society. My colleagues and I have followed closely the humanitarian efforts of the Red Cross society and I must confess that we are inspired and excited at the chance to support this cause.”
